About me

I am a data-focused researcher and analyst with a diverse professional background. From working as an operations research analyst with the County of San Diego focused on redistricting and homelessness to being a finance professor at Shanghai University of Finance and Economics and a research systems analyst at the Federal Reserve, I have gained a wide range of experiences. These experiences have taken me to various cities around the world, including Shanghai, Seoul, Hong Kong, Washington DC, San Francisco, and San Diego.

In my roles, I have excelled in data ETL (extract-transform-load), analytics, forecasting, and have a deep understanding of financial, equity, and crypto markets. I have also developed expertise in web scraping, machine learning, and dashboard development, which you can see some examples of on this site.

Outside of work, I like gathering and studying data from stock markets and crypto exchanges. In the past, I have used this data and analysis for algo-trading. On rare occasions when interest piques and time allows, I also write blogs on data-related topics.

I am a US citizen available for full remote work opportunities, eager to contribute my analytical skills to various data analysis projects. You can reach me at chimmlau@gmail.com.
